CFB Invites Organisations, Tech parks, IT Companies to join us on 31st August for the Rail Yatra
Even though extensive railway lines and beautiful train stations existed in Namma Bengaluru for decades, most people are still unaware of the power it has in reducing city traffic. In 2016, Citizens For Bengaluru (CfB) did a public campaign called #ChukuBukuBeku which resulted in some progress but mostly on paper. We now launched a campaign called #ModaluTrainBeku (Give us the train, first!) to once raise awareness especially around ORR and put pressure on Railways and State Government to expedite this long-standing demand. We need your help!
#ModaluTrainBeku is our current campaign in continuation to persuade Govt, various stakeholders and also to bring awareness among common people about the Sub-UrbanRail System CfB is organizing another #ChukuBukuBeku Rail Yatra.
We, Citizens For Bengaluru writing this inviting your organization to collaborate with us for “Rail Yatra” on 31st August at 230pm from Yeshwantpur to Heelalige(Train No: 76523) and return at 5:14pm from Heelalige to Bayyappanahalli(Karaikal Train No 56513). We seek your assistance in spreading the word for this yatra and about the power of suburban trains. The significance of this stretch is that it touches most part of IT campuses in the city where lakhs of “IT Employees” will be able to use for their regular commute.
We strongly believe Suburban trains as a big part of traffic solutions for our city. With 45+ stations and nearly 200kms of railway tracks within the city limits, it is an under-utilized and unexplored resource for intercity travel. Unlike Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, the suburban train project did not take off in Bengaluru for several years due to various reasons. But, better late than never. Together, we believe we can make it happen. We have many positive indicators from the MoU that got signed between State and Centre and the Rs 17,000 Crores allocated in the last Union Budget announced by the Prime Minister himself.
You can support us by:
– Joining us at any of the nearest railways stations to your campus as a group (It’ll be great if Organization can provide last mile facility to employees)
– Sharing our online survey on your internal mailing list
– Permitting to put up event posters in your campus
– Facilitate a talk – we can present the idea of the suburban rail system for your organization.
– Talk about our campaign in social media, print, and visual media.
CfB is a grassroots apolitical citizens’ movement and a platform where citizens involve themselves to make Bengaluru a #LivableCity based on the principles of sustainability and inclusivity. Our previous campaigns are #SteelFlyoverBeda #ChukuBukuBeku #MaraKadiBedi #BusBhagyaBeku #NammaSamitiNamagaagi.
